Arsenal head to Sheffield United on Monday night having seen their rivals play throughout the weekend.

The Gunners need three points to keep in touch with Liverpool having enjoyed an extended break when compared to their rivals, who were in FA Cup action last week. The Blades aren't expected to provide many issues for Mikel Arteta's side as they battle relegation.

The north Londoners have won their last six in the league with a Champions League reverse in Porto their only blip in recent months. The Gunners have been in free-scoring form, sticking six past West Ham and five past Burnley, and could continue that trend in Yorkshire. Here's the latest news involving Arsenal.

Four-man shortlist drawn up

Victor Osimhen is on a four-man striker shortlist, reports TEAMTalk, as Arsenal weigh up their options ahead of the summer. The Napoli ace has been linked with a move to England's top flight and admitted that an eventual switch is on his radar.

Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres, who last year was at Coventry City in the Championship, has proved himself in Portugal and is another man being eyed by those at the Emirates. Bayer Leverkusen's Victor Boniface could finish the season as a Bundesliga champion and is another option.

Brighton moved to sign Joao Pedro back in the summer and the striker is a proven performer in the Premier League, which has attracted Arsenal's attention.

Rice adamant Arsenal have learned lessons

Declan Rice is adamant those at the Emirates have learned from last year's failings. The Gunners led the table for most of the season before falling away late on. The midfielder believes they were the best team in England and thinks they're even better following their shortcomings.

"Last year, I think Arsenal were the best team in the league," claimed the England international. "Obviously, they slipped up in the end and [Man] City always come on strong. This year, I feel like everyone, including the manager, the staff, everyone has learned from their mistakes.

"We’re stronger, we have more belief. Even if we go a goal down, we instil that confidence and that mental strength in us that we can win games. The league is so strong this year. To play in it, it’s been special. I know me and all the lads are really enjoying it."

Partey due to return

Arteta is ready to welcome Thomas Partey back to his midfield with the Ghanaian due to renew his relationship with Declan Rice, whom he's only played alongside just the once. Partey was an integral figure last season and the Arsenal boss is confident the duo can hit it off.

“I think they only played in the Community Shield together in midfield,” said the Spanish boss. “That tells you how much we have missed Thomas. To play the whole season and a player like him who has not played much with us. The impact he can have for the next 3 months can be really big.

“He can also help Declan as well. I will have to see that chemistry on the pitch and those qualities and the things we have to treat around to make sure they play to their strengths and make each other better. But I think that will be a very powerful midfield.”
