Geri Horner surprised fans with her loved-up appearance with F1 Red Bull boss and her husband, Christian Horner, on the grid before the opening Grand Prix of the season in Bahrain this weekend.
The show of togetherness, which included hand holding and kisses in the hospitality suite, is said to have masked the heartache of the former Spice Girl, amid Christian's sext scandal. Pictures of the messages, allegedly from the father-of-two to a female employee, of sexually suggestive nature were leaked this week. Christian was cleared of “coercive behaviour” following an investigation by Red Bull and has strenuously denied the allegations about misconduct.
After days of headlines, a defiant Geri presented a united front with Christian but sources have said that behind the scenes, the singer"read the riot act" to her husband when she arrived in the Middle East. A friend of the singer told The Sun that many were "astonished" by Geri's "show of support". They added: "There is absolutely no doubt she is furious."
While they looked together in Bahrain, the friend continued to spread doubt over whether Geri and Christian's marriage would survive this scandal. They said: “There are questions about her future with him and she let him know in no uncertain terms. It’s uncertain whether their marriage will survive but she is giving it a good chance by showing him support, at least in public."
The friend added that Geri "must be hurt, humiliated and very, very angry." The Spice Girl shared an awkward kiss and hug with Christian and with Red Bull driver Max Verstappen sweeping to victory, team boss Horner was pleased with the outcome of the day. He said after Verstappen's win: "It’s been the best possible start to the season, very clinical and well-executed. The perfect start.”

Despite the united front, Max's father Jos Verstappen, told the Mail that there was still a lot of awkwardness around the team. He said: "There is tension here while he remains in position. The team is in danger of being torn apart. It can’t go on the way it is. It will explode. He is playing the victim, when he is causing the problems.”
It has been rumoured that Geri's religious beliefs and spirituality is keeping her from going over the edge with her husband. The singer turned to Christianity in 2001, studying the Bible on a 10-week Alpha course and she now always wears a crucifix around her neck. A source told The Sun: “Her Christianity is helping Christian because — although angry — she believes in forgiveness and wants to keep her family together.”
