Dua Lipa admitted she would add a "little bit of danger" to her BRIT performance as she stunned on the red carpet at the event.

The pop star, 28, performed at the award ceremony at London's O2 Arena on Saturday night. She rocked up to the event channelling her inner goth as she wowed on the red carpet. Dua Lipa stunned in a black skin-tight leather dress, with plunging V-neck straps.

She kept her new red locks straight, with a middle parting. The Dance The Night hitmaker accessorised her rock chick look with a chunky silver chain necklace and large silver bangle. Dua wore dark eye make-up and gave a sultry pose to the cameras. She performed at the event, alongside Raye, Ellie Goulding, Calvin Harris and Kylie Minogue.

Speaking ahead of taking to the stage, Dua teased: "Well I love to add a little bit of danger to my performances and it’s all just about having fun and creating a spectacle and I mean what better place to do that than at home in London, at the Brits… I’m so happy to be here and I’m so excited to go and do my warm-up and get ready to go on stage.”

Dua has been nominated in three categories - pop act, artist of the year and song of the year. She had huge success last year with her Dance The Night track, which was used in the blockbuster Barbie movie. Kylie Minogue was awarded the global icon gong, following the success of her Grammy Award-winning hit, Padam Padam.

RAYE will also be performing, and has made history by receiving an eye-watering seven nominations in one night, more than any other artist. Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift lead the international nominees, while bands such as Bring Me The Horizon and The Rolling Stones are also nominated.

Dua joined RAYE, Kylie, Fleur East and Maya Jama on the red carpet before the awards show. Last year, the awards show sparked fury when the coveted Artist of the Year award shunned women entirely and saw an all-male line-up revealed after the ceremony decided to dispose of gendered awards. This year's event sees huge female stars take to the stage.

Clara Amfo, Love Island presenter Maya Jama and radio star Roman Kemp have graced the stage as the hosts of this year's lavish event. Last year, The BRIT Awards was hosted by Mo Gilligan. Sophie Ellis Bextor, who returned to the spotlight thanks to smash hit film Saltburn, is also rumoured to be one of the many stars performing on stage at the event.
