Molly-Mae Hague appeared to alarm her fans when she ditched her trademark blonde hair for a darker, auburn shade.
The 24-year-old former Love Island star has been influencing fans since she found fame on season five of the ITV reality show in 2019. In the years since, she has been a brand ambassador for the likes of Pretty Little Thing and collaborated on a hair care line with beauty company Beauty Works.
And perhaps her most devout fans were fearing they would need to fork out hundreds of pounds to make-over their own hair to continue matching their idol as Molly-Mae teased she had dyed her hair a darker shade. Taking to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, the reality star showed off a new style, with her long locks cascading around her shoulders.
She employed the help of celebrity hair stylist Chris Appleton - who has worked with Kim Kardashian in the past to help her maintain her own hairstyle. Molly-Mae showed off snaps of herself posing tight the hair stylist while teasing her fans.

She then shared another snap of herself showing off her darker hair with Chris holding locks to one side of her face. She acknowledged him once again and added an orange heart emoji.

Molly-Mae hinted the new look was rejected by fans - who may have told her they did not like the new hair style. So minutes later she took to Instagram Stories once again to reassure her followers that she hadn’t actually dyed her own hair.
Posing with her familiar blonde locks, the reality star flashed a peace sign at the camera and pouted for a kiss. She added a caption stating: “Just a wig guys don’t panic” - along with a crying-with-laughter emoji.
The new look divided fans - as some took to social media to express their love and others shared hesitance. One fan on Instagram wrote: "Oh my gosh!!! The way my jaw dropped to the floor... Love this look on her too wow such a different vibe." Another fan who liked the new style wrote: "The colour suits her better than blonde." Another was not fooled and wrote: "It’s a wig lol." Another fan suggested the star should dye her locks, writing: "Be nice even darker" - but yet another disagreed, and wrote: "Nice but looks better Blonde."
Molly-Mae then suggested she was off to shop up a storm as she shared a snap of Bond Street in London - with jewellery shops including Chanel, Moussaieff and Harry Winston clearly in view of her shot. The reality star recently stunned fans by revealing she has a perfume collection worth more than £10,000. Defending her extravagant hoard of fragrances, the star said: "I take pride in my collection."
