Enzo Fernandez reacted angrily to a Liverpool fan taunting him following Chelsea's last-gasp Carabao Cup final defeat.

The Argentine World Cup winner was walking up the Wembley steps following his side's 1-0 defeat courtesy of Virgil van Dijk's 118th-minute goal, as Liverpool fans hurled stick at the Chelsea players.

Chelsea forward Mykhaylo Mudryk was stood in front of Fernandez and didn't respond to the taunts as one supporter was heard sarcastically saying: "Enzo, unlucky lad."

Fernandez reacted to the comment by glaring at the supporter before his team-mate directed him up the stairs. The fan, meanwhile, could be heard laughing at the incident.

Defeat for Chelsea means they have now lost six successive domestic cup finals dating back to their FA Cup success over Manchester United in May 2018. The Blues last won a major trophy when they won the Champions League three years ago, having lost to Liverpool in both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup final in 2022.

Reflecting on his side's defeat, Pochettino said: "My emotions, I feel the same as the players. If you ask the players how they feel, I feel the same. I am so disappointed, so painful. I am older, less time to win titles and they are younger than me and for sure have time.

"In football, it is always about when you have the opportunity. When we arrive for the final, already it should be good, to challenge the opponent, but after when you don't get what you want, all of the effort you made for seven or eight months, it's tough. That is difficult to manage, and to deal with this. We are competitive. If we want to win, we need to move on. I think tomorrow we need to train and recover for Wednesday."

Chelsea will be looking to bounce back when they host Leeds in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday. This is before Premier League fixtures against Brentford and Newcastle as the Blues attempt to force their way back into European contention. They currently sit 11th, four points behind seventh-place Brighton.
