Motivation to mend things might be making its way into your mindset, but have you got the right tools? Late winter and early spring is the perfect time to be stocking up on DIY kit that can help you make a proper job of the jobs on your to-do list as the seasons change and we move towards a productive summer.

2. Loctite Precision Instant Super Glue - £2.98

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsSuperglue is useful for all kinds of tasks (Amazon)

Super Glue is a DIY-drawer staple, and this five-gram bottle from the legendary Loctite brand is discounted down from its usual price of £4.88 to just £2.98 at the moment. Its extra-long nozzle is perfect for small, intricate tasks and its fast-setting formula will make it easy to carry out quick repairs.

Always read the safety warnings with super glue and bear in mind it won't suit all materials. But it's probably the best glue for most jobs.

3. Rolson Pick and Hook Set - £3

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsThis is one of those tool sets you never knew you needed

We cannot believe how cheap this quality Ronson set of tools is. Picks and hooks are tools with more uses than you'd realise and you'll probably wonder what you did without them after a while.

At the usual RRP price of £6.90, it's a good price, but for less than half that, at £3, it's just such a bargain. One reviewer said: "What can you say, for the price you can not go wrong with these, if they help you out once they have to be worth it."

4. Stanley Essential Tool Box - £9

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsSturdy and cheap, this is a great price for a basic tool box

What a great price for this Stanley tool box, it's currently on offer with 21% off, bringing it down to £9. That's the price for the smaller, 12.5-inch version, which will be fine for most casual DIYers because it'll comfortably swallow up a screwdriver set, some pliers, a hammer and all the other manly things we need to pretend we know what we're doing.

There are other sizes available on Amazon, all the way up to a 19-inch toolbox, and they also offer bundles, with tools included. Reviewers love the value-for-money aspect of these tool-boxes, but one did point out the storage compartments on the top could do with transparent lids so you can see the contents.

5. Frog Tape Multi-Surface Painters' Masking Tape - £6.59

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsFrog Tape will have you turning your back on cheap masking tape for good

There's only a small saving on this Frog Tape, but if you've ever done a painting job with cheap masking tape, you've got to try using this instead. Frog tape blocks off the paint line much better than ordinary masking tape which makes for cleaner edges.

It's also stronger meaning it's easier to peel off in one satisfying swoop. One reviewer said: "There isn't anything bad to say about this product, it is a premium product versus standard beige masking tape you can pick up anywhere, but you really do get a premium finish for your money."

6. Duck Tape Original - £4

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsYou'd be quackers not to have some Duck Tape in your man drawer

Any DIYer will tell you - Duck Tape basically fixes anything. And if it doesn't, you might as well just throw it away.

This is a really good price for genuine Duck Tape at just £4, with a £1.99 saving. You only get the saving on the 25-metre roll. Pick the 10-metre roll and you'd pay £7.37.

Duck Tape is one of those things you should carry everywhere with you because you never know when you might need it. It's a definite toolbox essential.

7. Ram White Soft-Close Toilet Seat - £9.95

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsSoft-close toilets are great things to have in the house - and this one's seriously cheap

A brief, honourable mention for this extremely cheap toilet seat. Firstly, if you haven't changed your toilet seat for a while, do.

You'll be appalled at how disgusting they get and how many germs they trap in their nooks and crannies. I know this because I've just changed mine. It wasn't a fun job but I'm glad I did it.

I do wish, though, that I'd seen this bargain before I shelled out. It's a soft-close toilet seat for just £9.95, which is tempting enough, but it is also quick release. So you can just pop it off to clean it. What a brilliant idea.

Reviewers have pointed out that it's made of fairly thin plastic, but there are very few complaints about build quality.

8. Fit For The Job Sandpaper - £1.99

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsA good price for a DIY staple

Another quick aside to highlight this extremely cheap pack of sandpaper. Ten sheets will last most DIYers a good while, and there's an assortment of grades, which is very handy.

You can buy bigger or smaller packs, or opt for medium or coarse-graded packs, but the mixed pack is the one I think I'm going to sneak into my basket because it's such a good price and a great thing to have in the toolbox.

9. Drill Brush Attachment Set - £11.99

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsThere are so many things I could use this set for (Amazon)

Why not use your drill to make your housework easier? This set of brush attachments is so versatile and could have a vast array of uses.

You get six types of brushes in the pack and they'd be handy for everything from car cleaning to polishing the grouting in your bathroom. Reviewers rave about the build quality and I know some of you will like that they're available in pink.

10. BIIB Multi Tool - £13.58

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsThis could be the perfect present for the DIYer who thinks he has everything (Amazon)

I think this looks so useful, and it's got a 20% off deal on it. Based around a sturdy-looking hammer, it packs in 12 tools ranging from a pair of pliers to a screwdriver.

It's the sort of thing you could keep in your car or caravan, or attach to your belt whenever you're doing some odd jobs. One reviewer said: "Bought as a present, much better made than I’d expect for the price and they loved it."

11. Deko Tool Kit Set Box - £25.99

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsA comprehensive tool set for just over £25 has got to be worth a look

If you're starting your DIY journey, here's a nice little set of tools. Most of the basic implements you'll need around the house are in this box, including Hex keys, a pair of pliers, a hammer, a tape measure and a screwdriver set.

Don't expect miracles from the quality at this price, but it will be ideal for basic jobs and it's handy to keep everything in one place, ready to grab when something breaks.

12. Acmaker Cordless Drill - £39.99

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsCordless drills can be so handy for DIY jobs (Amazon)

A good combi drill is an essential part of any suite of DIY tools and cordless drills have come on leaps and bounds over the years. I've picked this out because of the price - £39.99 including a 20% discount is a great deal for a 20V combi drill and comes with two batteries.

If you're a serious DIYer or do a lot of masonry drilling, you'll need to consider something more beefy, but you might be pleasantly surprised by this one. It's also a comprehensive set, so you'll get bits, sockets and plugs with it too.

13. VonHaus Paint Sprayer - £44.99

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsNeed to paint your fence? Save yourself a lot of time with one of these tools (Amazon)

Spring is a great time to give anything wooden in your garden a layer of protective paint - this looks like a terrific tool for the job. Think fence panels, sheds, garden furniture - all last longer if it's had a few coats. And it's a chance to change the look with a new colour, too.

This is an 800w sprayer, which is nice and powerful, and reviewers love the time-saving aspect. However some have mentioned they find it a bit heavy once the 1,300ml paint container is full.

14. Kärcher WV 1 Window Vac - £34.97

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsI'd be lost without my window vac now (Amazon)

If you don't already own one of these, you must. They're such a fantastic tool for a variety of applications.

Designed primarily for cleaning windows, they suck up cleaning fluids from glass and other smooth surfaces without leaving any streaks. It's honestly quite remarkable how easy it makes such an otherwise dull job.

I use mine in my motorhome for cleaning off the condensation on the windscreen in the morning and it's so effective. It rarely needs charging, either.

This is Karcher's cheapest and most basic model, but you don't need to go for anything more posh, unless you really want to.

15. Worx 40V 34cm Cordless Lawn Mower - £172

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsA good cordless lawnmower will make your life so much easier (Amazon)

I bought a cordless lawn mower last year, and it's been such a game-changer. No more messing about with cables, I just drag it out of the shed, whiz around the garden, and I'm done in minutes.

The trouble is, I initially bought the cheapest one I could find - it was rubbish. So I then, bought a better one, a bit like this Worx model.

The golden rule is to try to go for at least 36V, make sure it comes with the batteries and charger because they're expensive and try to stick to brands you've heard of. This particular mower ticks all those boxes, Worx is a great brand and it comes with two batteries, which serve up 40V in total.

The best bit, though, is it's discounted down from its usual £199 to just £172, if you jump on a £27 coupon deal that's on right now.

16. Hyundai 52cc Petrol Garden Multi Function Tool - £199.99

16 great Amazon deals on spring-time DIY essentialsLoads of add-ons make this multi-tool well worth considering for spring and summer garden jobs

If you've got a garden, it won't be long before all your greenery starts growing like crazy and you'll need to stay on top of shrubs, hedges and borders.

So a good multi-function tool like this one by Hyundai could be well worth a look. It's such a lot of kit for the money, with attachments to turn it into a hedge trimmer, chainsaw, grass trimmer and brush cutter and it even comes with a protective mask and gloves.

Because it has a petrol engine it's going to be very powerful but just be aware some reviewers found it too heavy and there were a few question marks over the build quality.
