It's no secret that the way we dress can have a massive impact on how we are perceived by others. This doesn't just come down to the type of clothes we wear, but also the colour, according to experts.

According to colour psychology, the shades we decide to wear play an important part in non-verbally conveying information, create certain moods – and can even influence the decisions people make.

Content creator Max Klymenko, an entrepreneur from Ukraine who now lives in the UK, shared a video on his account sharing the colours he wears that change how people perceive him.

Max, who runs his own creative agency, has four university degrees in law, economics, business, sociology, explained that the brain is wired to read certain colours in specific ways.

In the video, he shared that wearing baby blue is the colour you should wear if you want to bag yourself a free coffee, because radiates that you're naive.

If the situation you find yourself in could benefit from you looking trustworthy, you should wear green, according to Max. This is particularly helpful if you're working in a team.

If you could benefit from looking in control, you should wear purple, which also signifies wealth.

Meanwhile, Max recommends if you have a big presentation to do, for example for work or in school, you should wear pink to portray confidence.

Max also shared the colour you should never wear on a date, because it will make you look suspicious.

Many people in the comment section were particularly disappointed by this one. One person said: "Me and my 26 black date tops".

Another added: "I actually wear black most days to be honest. Maybe I am suspicious because even Myself doesn't know who I am."

A third said: "I guess I'm always suspicious."

In a separate video, Max shared more colours "based on 'colour science' that studies the impact colours have on the brain'."

The colour you should be wearing on a date, according to colour science, is red, which shows you are passionate.

White is the colour you should wear if you want to appear pure, which is great when asking a favour.

Meanwhile, it appears you can trick your brain into feeling happier if you wear orange.

Max also recommended you shouldn't wear grey at work, because it will make you appear timid.
