Quicker speeds, reliability, contract length and a host of hidden free perks are staple factors many shoppers look at when choosing their home broadband provider. And the latest advice shows Virgin Media, BT, Vodafone, and Plusnet as the ones to go with.
That's according to the team at Independent Advisors whose latest research shows consumers which exact providers may be the best to go for if you're looking for an upgrade, whether it's for streaming your favourite binge-worthy TV series or working from home.
2024 broadband deals:
Starting with Plusnet which has been named one to look if you want better value for money, most likely aided by its current February sale. The Plusnet Full Fibre 145 package, a rival against the Sky Full Fibre and Virgin Media plans, is now £28.99 a month and you won't pay a penny to activate it.

PlusNet has currently cut its upfront cost down to £0 to make it cheaper for broadband shoppers, fixed across a 24-month plan this deal would cost users £695 in total. And with speeds of 145Mbps, it offers relatively quick speeds at a cheaper price, compared to rival retailers.
Next up is Virgin Media, named by the team at Independent Advisor Broadband for its speeds. Gemma Ryles, home technology expert, said: "Virgin Media stands as a prominent provider of full-fibre services in the UK. Their Gig1 broadband service is presently among the fastest options accessible in the country."
A current deal to jump on, spotted by our team here at Mirror Tech is the Virgin Media M250 broadband. Anyone who signs up to the 18-month plan will get £75 in bill credit to put towards their monthly costs - not too shabby.
Also featured were BT and Vodafone, two providers which have previously scored high on Ofcom's checker, the regulator lists providers in terms of coverage, network and speeds. Like Plusnet, Vodafone is also hosting a February sale as it cuts up to £250 off its full fibre broadband packages.
