A defiant David Moyes has snapped back at the section of West Ham supporters who are calling for him to be sacked.
Saturday's dismal 2-0 defeat away to struggling Nottingham Forest means that the Irons have now gone eight games without a win, having failed to record a single victory in 2024. The loss to Forest is also West Ham's third successive defeat in the Premier League without scoring.
A growing portion of fans are calling for Moyes' head, with banners unfurled in the away end during the loss. Post-match, however, the Scot issued a simple message of be careful what you wish for.
"Maybe they've had managers who excite them more, possibly, but the one who's sitting here wins more," Moyes stated, referencing the fact he boasts the highest win rate of any West Ham manager in history.
On the 'Moyes Out' banners, the former Manchester United boss replied: "I'm really disappointed that we didn't win today and I'm really disappointed with a couple of results. But you mustn't forget the good results, you mustn't forget the wins even this season.

"We're sitting in a strong position [ninth in the table], last season we were sitting near the bottom. It was only three years ago that we were Nottingham Forest and fighting relegation. We've moved on a long way from there."
Some critics believe that Moyes has lost the Irons dressing room but he chose to praise his players in spite of another defeat, claiming they performed well. "I thought the players responded incredibly well, they showed character, a lot of courage at different times of the game," the 60-year-old declared.

West Ham conceded in both sets of injury time, with Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi breaking the deadlock in the 49th minute. Then after Moyes' side were reduced to 10 men when Kalvin Phillips was shown a second yellow card, in-form Callum Hudson-Odoi wrapped things up.
In was contrasting emotions for Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who told PLP: "I think we played a very good game. Defensively we were very aggressive, really close to the West Ham players. We played good, we created chances, we scored, I think we controlled the game really well."
