A model who went through a break-up just two months after finding out she has cancer is now auctioning off her wedding dress to pay for the medical treatment.

Lucero Vega is currently receiving various treatments after being diagnosed with breast cancer, which has also seen her lose her hair. Just two months after finding out the bad news, the 24-year-old claims she was dumped by her ex.

Now, the Mexican native, from Querétaro, is left to fend for herself as she battles the disease - while her dreams of soon having a family have also been crushed.

To make matters worse, Lucero says her dad was diagnosed with skin cancer around the same time, too.

"I felt an emptiness at first because I saw a family with him," Lucero said.

"I went to freeze my eggs with him because he really wanted a family by his side."

In a bid to help fund her cancer treatment, Lucero has launched a raffle, which includes auctioning off her wedding dress.

There are 500 tickets up for grabs at around £20 a pop (500 pesos).

She's also raffling off a 2001 VW Golf for the same price but with only 350 tickets available.

Since her diagnosis, Lucero has been sharing videos on YouTube about her journey.

In the videos, the model shares details about her break-up, explaining how difficult it was for both of them to deal with her illness.

Despite being dumped, she carries no ill will towards her ex.

On 23 December, Lucero received her eighth and final round of chemotherapy.

Unfortunately, she still has a long road to recovery including surgery, radiotherapy and hormone blockers.

She added: "What people have to understand is that with cancer, it is a very long process.

"As soon as the first phase of chemotherapy is over, surgery, radiotherapy and hormone blockers are needed.

"I will be receiving treatment for approximately five years."

Although she hasn't sold all of her raffle tickets yet, Lucero has high hopes that they will sell out.
