Arsenal ace Jorginho has revealed who he thinks the best five players in the Premier League are and included a "very surprising" Chelsea pick in Reece James.
The Italy international has been plying his trade in the English top flight since 2018, first arriving at Chelsea from Serie A titans Napoli. After four-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge, Jorginho made the short trip across the capital to join their London rivals Arsenal.
In the 13 months he's been at the Emirates, Jorginho has established himself as a senior figure within the dressing room. When he speaks, it's with authority and it would appear that the rest of the Arsenal squad listens - though it'll be interesting to see what they make of his top five.
Asked who he feels are the top five players in the Premier League currently in an interview with JD Football, Jorginho was tipped by the co-host to include Manchester City duo Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne, as well as Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah.
"These three for sure, it's a tough one, yeah, it's tough," the 32-year-old explained. Another City star in Rodri was suggested to him as a fourth addition, but Jorginho opted for Gunners colleague Bukayo Saka instead.
Chelsea complete record-breaking Enzo Fernandez transfer after deadline day rushWith one more slot available, Jorginho sprung a real surprise with his fifth pick. Some may have assumed the midfield partner of £105million Declan Rice would have gone for the England international, but instead, Jorginho named former Chelsea team-mate James.
Names like Martin Odegaard, William Saliba and Virgil van Dijk were put to him but Jorginho stood firm. Though many fans and pundits alike believe that Trent Alexander-Arnold is the league's best right-back, the Arsenal midfielder's explanation for naming James was insightful.

"They are a bit different," Jorginho claimed. "But if I am to choose for my team, I'd choose Reece. I think he's more complete on everything. But Trent has these passes and shot; it's unbelievable. They are a bit different but overall I'd choose Reece."
Jorginho and James spent the best part of four years together in west London and in that time won both the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup, as well as ending as runners-up on three separate occasions in the FA Cup.
Fitness issues have plagued James' career since the start of last season and as a result, the right-back has made just eight league appearances for Chelsea so far this term. He is expected to miss the Carabao Cup final clash against Alexander-Arnold's Liverpool later this month.
