Kanye West's controversial new album Vultures 1 has officially been dropped from Apple Music after a heated distributor dispute.
Apple Music and iTunes are both reported to have pulled Ye and Ty Dolla Sign's latest release from their platforms this week. While some of the singles from the album remain on Apple Music, the album has a whole has been removed. It has also been claimed that the distributors are working to have the rapper's new album taken off all streaming services. As for Spotify, Kanye's song Good (Don't Die) was removed as it featured a sample from late singer Donna Summer's track I Feel Love without permission.
In a statement to Variety Thursday, FUGA said: "Late last year, FUGA was presented with the opportunity to release Vultures 1. Exercising our judgment in the ordinary course of business, we declined to do so," and continued: "On Friday, February 9, 2024, a long-standing FUGA client delivered the album ‘Vultures 1’ through the platform’s automated processes, violating our service agreement. Therefore, FUGA is actively working with its DSP partners and the client to remove Vultures 1 from our systems.”

Now that the album is in FUGA's hands, the company plans to remove the album off its platform, which will leave many fans of the rapper unable to stream his new album.
Before the album was yanked from the music platform, a number of artists spoke out about copyright issues claiming that the rapper stole their work. Last week Donna's estate took to Instagram slamming Kanye for using a sample of the late singer's song after they denied usage. In a post the estate wrote: "Kanye West… asked permission to use Donna Summer’s song I Feel Love, he was denied… he changed the words, had someone re sing it or used AI but it’s I Feel Love… copyright infringement!!!”
The removal also comes as Kanye's album was met with copyright controversies (Kanye West/Instagram, Roc-A-Fella Records)Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon also shared their outrage as Kanye previously sampled one of the legendary rocker's hit songs Iron Man after he denied permission. The 75-year-old singer took to social media as well informing his fans of the controversy claiming that he wants no association with the rapper due to him being "an antisemite."
In the post, Ozzy wrote: "Kanye West asked permission to sample a section of a 1983 live performance of 'Iron Man' from the US Festival without vocals & was refused permission because he is an antisemite and has caused untold heartache to many. He went ahead and used the sample anyway at his album listening party last night. I want no association with this man!"
