Due to security concerns, the notorious California father who starved and shackled his 13 children, confining them to the family house, has been transferred to a different prison.
In a recently-taken photo, David Turpin, 62, looked tired with growing circles under his eyes, but he still maintained a grin, piercing stare, and his distinctive gray mop-like haircut. Turpin was transferred "due to safety and security concerns" from the California State Prison at Corcoran, which was formerly the residence of cult leader Charles Manson.
Inmates may be moved for a number of reasons, such as a change in their security classification, disruptive behavior, or fear for their personal safety in the event of physical harm threats.

Although Turpin's new living situation is being kept secret, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation states that his children can ask to be notified when he is transferred and when his next parole hearing is scheduled.
Abandoned prison which caged dangerous cartel killers found by urban explorerLouise Turpin, 55, the spouse of Turpin, is still incarcerated in a women's jail in Chowchilla, California. The couple was given sentences in April 2019 for torturing their children, ranging from 25 years to life apiece.
The most current mugshot of Louise was taken on June 5, 2023; it shows her smiling, having bright eyes, and having significant grays in her pulled-back brunette hair.
After the Perris, California couple was arrested on 12 counts of torture and false imprisonment, all of which were directed at their own 12 children, the Turpins' trial attracted global attention. Six allegations of child abuse and seven counts of abuse of a dependent adult were also brought against them.
One count of lewd act on a child under the age of 14 was also brought against David Turpin. They both entered guilty pleas. One of the older kids, Jordan, who was 17 at the time, boldly fled the house of horror, dialed 911, and informed the authorities that she and her siblings had been mistreated and had lived in filth for years. This resulted in the children's rescue.
With her dance routines and life updates, Jordan, now 22 years old, has amassed hundreds of thousands of fans on TikTok and established herself as a true internet star. She signed a modeling contract as well.
Even still, the children continue to suffer from years of physical and psychological abuse. Joshua, one of the Turpins' sons, who is currently about 30 years old, admitted to the judge during the sentencing that he still dreams about his brothers being shackled.
“I cannot describe in words what I went through growing up. Sometimes I still have nightmares about. Things like my siblings being chained up,” he said. “I love my parents and have forgiven them.”
