Emmerdale's Mandy Dingle star Lisa Riley has sweetly praised her co-star after a huge career milestone
On Monday night, at the TV Choice Awards 2024, the hit ITV soap won big as it took home the coveted Best Soap accolade while Cain Dingle star Jeff Hordley took home Best Soap Actor.
Taking to Instagram after the star-studded awards ceremony, Mandy star Lisa, 47, was full of praise for her co-star and Emmerdale. Posting a picture of the winners, Lisa penned: "MASSIVE congratulations to our @jeffhordley so well deserved, and long long long overdue.
"And massive congratulations to the entire @emmerdale family to everyone at @tvchoicemagazine who voted. Such great news to kick off our New Year up in YORKSHIRE #emmerdale #tvchoiceawards #awards #tonight" followed by clapping emojis.
Lisa's 195K followers and Emmerdale fans were quick to react to the sweet post. One person said: "I agree Lisa.... Jeff's recognition is way overdue. He is fantastic...there's only one Cain Dingle", a different account put: "Well done to @emmerdale actors, they deserved this" while another added: "Absolutely long overdue amazing actor congratulations to @jeffhordley and Emmerdale."

Emmerdale's official Instagram also took to Instagram to post about the night, writing: "What an amazing night at the TV Choice Awards! Best Soap: Emmerdale Best Soap Actor: Jeff Hordley #Emmerdale #winner #tvchoiceawards @tvchoicemagazine @itvxofficial @itv."
After winning the award, Cain star Jeff, 53, said: "I’m just really honoured just to be in the mix with people, there’s so many great actors out there in the soap world." Elsewhere at the ceremony, Coronation Street's Evelyn Plummer star Maureen Lipman won Best Soap Actress.
It comes as the Dingles will be a big focus on this week's Emmerdale as Belle Dingle marries Tom King. However, the ceremony will soon be full of drama as Ruby Fox-Milligan exposes husband Caleb Milligan and Tracy Metcalfe's affair during the reception.
