Coronation Street will air some big scenes next week as secrets will be exposed and a killer "returns".

There's been a lot going on on the Cobbles as of late, and next week, even more comes to light as two big secrets will finally be revealed involving Bethany Platt and Lauren Bolton as well as a car crash horror that leaves one resident riddled with guilt.

Elsewhere, it looks like a fan favourite could be waving goodbye to the Cobbles for good and a villain is set to "return" as Bobby learns more than he thought he ever would about his father Rob Donovan.

Two truths exposed

Next week on Coronation Street, Daniel will learn the truth about what Bethany's been hiding from them all. When he ends up answering a call on her phone, he realises he's talking to the editor of Chit-Chat magazine.

Bethany is forced to admit to Daniel that she's been writing an article about him, Daisy and Ryan, which understandably leaves him fuming. Whilst she tries to reassure him that she won't hurt him again, he doesn't seem keen but will they make it work?

Elsewhere, Bethany tries to speak to Daisy and offers her a coffee in the hope they might be able to sort out things, but when the conversation gets heated and a row erupts, has Bethany blown her chances on the Cobbles?

Lauren, meanwhile, is struggling with money and paying her bills. However, when someone gives her a call to off her some cash, she is adamant she doesn't need the money and wants nothing more to do with them. When Max and Sabrina head to her flat and find her dressed in a sexy outfit, she has to reluctantly confess she is making videos for O-Vidz.

Car crash horror

A car crash next week brings more trouble for Simon. He has been struggling after his dad Peter Barlow left the Cobbles, and next week his drinking gets even worse. Nick tells Toyah that he needs her help with the shopping and asks Simon to drive Sam to his chess competition. When they head out, and having had a drink, Simon loses control the car and crashes.

Simon tells Sam to get out of the car and run, whilst when he gets home, he admits to Leanne that he damaged her car. When she tells him that they need to report it to the police, Simon tells her he was over the drink drive limit.

A few days later, Sam is back at school and collapses and is found unconscious on the floor by Hope. He's rushed to hospital, where Leanne tells the doctors that Sam was in a car accident and it wasn't the brakes on the car that caused it. Terrified and awash with guilt, Simon decides that he must take responsibility for what he's done.

Killer 'returns'

Rob Donovan hasn't been seen on the soap for several years after he received life imprisonment for killing Tina McIntyre. However, next week on the ITV soap, the storyline resurfaces when Bobby learns more about his dad.

Rita and Mary can't believe that Bobby is the son of Rob Donovan, Carla Connor's brother. And feeling something is up, he tells Carla he needs to know about Tina and what happened to her. Whilst he was convinced Tina's death happened when Rob was trying to defend himself, he's horrified to learn the truth - that Rob killed Tina in cold blood.

Exit sealed

Summer Spellman could be making a departure from the Cobbles in upcoming scenes. Next week, she confides in Billy that she's been offered a place to study in America but knows now is not the right time given Paul's condition.

Will she decide to leave the Cobbles for good or will she stick around a bit longer for Paul's sake?
