Kieton Pearson, a notorious dairy thief, was caught stealing 22 tubs of Lurpak butter from Tesco, worth £95.
This happened despite him already having a suspended sentence for stealing cheese. Pearson had previously been nabbed for pinching 'several pieces' of cheese from a food shop in July, Newcastle Crown Court heard. During that incident, he scuffled with a store manager before eventually giving up on the cheese, according to ChronicleLive.
He threatened to "stab him" if he didn't get the cheese back, but left empty-handed and returned later to apologise. He was then given a suspended sentence. Prosecutor Shada Mellor told the court that Pearson entered the Tesco store in Houghton-le-Spring, where he was already banned, on December 19 last year.

Miss Mellor said: "He was carrying his own bag. He placed 22 packs of Lurpak into his bag. He left without paying." Pearson, who lives on High Street, Easington Lane, Houghton-le-Spring, and has 71 previous convictions, admitted to the theft.

Recorder Anthony Dunne sentenced Pearson to two months in jail. The court heard that Pearson had a tough upbringing and wants to change. His defence, Vic Laffey, said: "He understands the situation he finds himself."
