Curtis Jones has accused Arsenal of "stealing" Liverpool's celebration style after the Gunners beat Jurgen Klopp's side 3-1 at the Emirates last Sunday.
The manner in which both Arsenal's players and manager in Mikel Arteta toasted the victory has been called into question by a number of fans and pundits alike. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher took objection with Gunners skipper Martin Odegaard taking a celebratory picture of Arsenal's club photographer, instead urging the midfilder to "just get down the tunnel".
Gary Neville suggested that the tone of Arsenal's celebrations strayed into immature territory, while Chris Sutton has claimed that the Gunners have made a rod for their own back by responding to the win with such passion.
Now Jones has weighed in on the debate, telling BBC Sport : "Listen, that’s why I’ve got to shut it all down in a respectful way, I’d say.
"The celebrations and all, that is all nice but for many years, we’ve always been a team, our fans have spoken about it and the gaffer himself, you know, the way he fist bumps the fans and stuff.
Chelsea complete record-breaking Enzo Fernandez transfer after deadline day rush"That’s kind of like our thing. So if they want to be stealing our stuff, then it shows that we’re on the right path and we’ve got these who are copying us. They can have, or teams, I'm not going to name just one team but yeah they can have their moment and stuff but there is a long way to go with plenty of games."

In contrast, Arsenal skipper Odegaard, who was at the heart of the celebrations under scrutiny, has also had his say and quashed any talk suggesting that the Gunners went too far. Speaking after the game, he echoed an entirely different sentiment to Jones.
"If you're not allowed to celebrate when you win a game, when are you allowed to celebrate? We're happy with the win and we'll stay humble," the Norwegian added.
"I think everyone who loves football, who understands football, they know how much it means to win this game. We keep working hard and we prepare for the next one, but of course you have to be happy when you win.
"It was a massive game. It could have been eight points and it would look a lot more difficult then, but we showed up, the fans were unbelievable."
