Jeremy Clarkson has made no secret of his love of cars - especially supercars.

And so this may explain why he looked pleased as punch while out and about in London's Notting Hill as he took a spin in a fancy new motor- a £260,000 purple McLaren car. Sat close to the ground, the metallic purple car stood out among all the other cars on the road, as it screamed that it was a brand new purchase.

But it wasn't just onlookers who turned their heads for a glance at the Clarkson's Farm star's latest addition to his fleet of luxury vehicles - Jeremy also flaunted it to a pal who he had met for lunch. The pair were pictured admiring the vehicle before the presenter opened up the wing door and slid into the car to head home.

This particular model, the 750s will be the last non-electric V8 supercar and the range is now sold out. Dressed casually in a pair of denim jeans, a woolly cardigan over a light blue shirt, the TV personality completed his look with a green overcoat. Jeremy was test riding the motor for a review in the Sunday Times.

Jeremy, who is believed to be worth an estimated £55.8 million, has a vast collection of supercars which include a Ferrari F355, a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, an Alfa Romeo GTV6 and an Aston Martin Virage. After filming the upcoming episode of The Grand Tour, Jeremy returned to the UK and bought a Jaguar F Type V6.

Speaking of buying the vehicle after road testing it for his TV programme he said: "The Jaguar F-Type V6 Supercharged VS. Well put it like this: it was so impressive, I came home and bought one immediately. And I don't think Hammond bought an Aston Martin afterwards."

Last month, Jeremy broke his silence over his decision to quit The Grand Tour after seven years - and he was keen to quash speculation of a feud between him and his co-stars. The programme first aired in 2016 after Jeremy, Richard Hammond and James May secured a deal with Amazon Prime following their move from the BBC.

The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host was axed by the BBC following an reported incident where he allegedly punched a producer after a row on set. And this prompted his co-stars to walk away from the broadcaster too. But speaking about his decision to quit the Prime show it seems came down to feeling exhausted and struggling to come up with new ideas.

In an interview with The Times, he said: "I’ve driven cars higher than anyone else and further north than anyone else. We’ve done everything you can do with a car. When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air."

He added: "[The show] is immensely physical and when you’re unfit and fat and old, which I am, camping in Mauritania was a stretch." Addressing rumours of a rift between his co-stars he continued:"We’ve spent more time in each other’s company than our families' over the last 25 years so I don’t think it would have lasted as long as it did if we’d hated each other as much as James likes to think."

But this may not be the last time the trio will be on-screen together. Jeremy said: "James May thinks there’s never been a more interesting time for how we move around and he’s probably right, but I don’t think it’s very interesting television. An electric car is no different from a chest freezer or a microwave oven."

He said: "There’s no glamour or excitement. This week on Top Chest Freezer! I think it suits the written media more." The end of The Grand Tour followed the news that the BBC had axed Top Gear for the "foreseeable future" after host Andrew Flintoff was was involved in a near fatal car crash during filming.
