Mauricio Pochettino revealed he has spoken to Thiago Silva after the Brazilian's wife, Belle, appeared to call for Chelsea to sack their head coach.
The Blues boss has come under significant pressure after Chelsea twice conceded four goals to lose to Liverpool and Wolves in the space of a week. The west London side were booed off the pitch at Stamford Bridge on Sunday as Pochettino's side dropped to 11th in the table.
Anger with the performance saw Belle to take to social media to comment "It’s time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late". Most took this to be a call to Chelsea's board to part ways with Pochettino less than a year into the job.
The 51-year-old head coach was asked about the comments and admitted that Silva came to talk to him on Tuesday. However, he would not divulge the details of the conversation.
Pochettino said in his press conference: "He came today to talk with me. I am not going to talk about the way we were talking.
Chelsea complete record-breaking Enzo Fernandez transfer after deadline day rush"The important thing is he came and wanted to talk with me and of course, you know me after more than 10 years, how I am. We are very strong coaching staff and very strong in our way to operate and the way that we are. he came to talk, we talk and that was private and that is it. Private things for me we keep inside."
While the course of the season has seen some tempestuous touchline discussions between the duo, Pochettino is confident his relationship with the 39-year-old is good. He said: "It's good. It's very good. I think so. Always it was good from the beginning, you can see in my press conferences and interviews how I talk about him."
The former Tottenham and PSG boss signed a two-year deal last summer, with the club holding an option for a further year. His and the team's performance is set to be assessed at the end of the season with European qualification still possible and the Carabao Cup final later this month.
When asked about whether he still felt the owners' trust, he said: "I didn't hear nothing from another way. I got a very good text from them. We are altogether in this and that is the most important. Of course they are in contact with me and the sporting director every day."
