The Masked Singer has booted off another celebrity - as the show's final draws closer.
Tonight, the seven remaining Masked Singers took to the stage in the hope of keeping their mask firmly on, but two are set to be booted out tonight in a double unmasking. Firstly, Dippy Egg found themselves having to take their mask off when their true identity was exposed, with the judges left reeling by the announcement.
Nicky Campbell was unmasked as Dippy Egg, leaving Davina McCall stunned as she is a great friend of the presenter. The pair have worked together for years on Long Lost Family, and judge Davina was shocked by his appearance on the show.
Speaking about his time on the show, he said: "I love the show. We watched it at home with my girls. I can kind of sing so when the opportunity came up, I thought, 'Yeah, absolutely. Incredible.' And it was.
"It's tough in here with the old lid on, but you get used to it after about four shows! Being in the show is incredible. I have not got a clue who anyone else is. You never see anything because you've got masks on all the time, so you can't see a thing. The worst thing about being in the costume is when the lid goes on the top of Dippy Egg, and all of a sudden, it's like you're in a deep-sea diving suit!"
Three new celebrities are set to join The Masked Singer panel this weekendLast week, daytime TV legend Lorraine Kelly found herself unmasked as Owl on the ITV guessing game show.
Speaking after the big reveal, she said: "I've loved being Owl, I've loved every single second, the show is so joyful. I just wanted to have a bit of fun to kick off the year and to be a bit silly. I've never had a chance to sing in front of an audience before, and I thought if I was behind a mask it wouldn't be as scary. I was astounded that the panel didn't get me right away because I thought they would hear my Scottish accent. I worked really quite hard to try and not be too Scottish, but I thought they would get me right away, and I thought it was hilarious who they were saying. It was really funny. I was really pleased that they didn't get me."
She later said she was feeling most nervous for this than she was for all her past presenting jobs. She told us in an interview post the big reveal: "You’d probably have to go back 40 years to my very first presenting job when my stomach was a washing machine and all I could hear in my ears was my heart beating. It was like that."
Discussing how all the judges thought she was someone much younger, she added: "They were guessing women that are the age of my daughter! I need to phone up Frankie Bridge and apologise, and Kym Marsh, and Alex Scott, all these wee lassies. That was nice, that they were guessing people that were an awful lot younger."
