Emmerdale star Charley Webb has been pictured for the first time since her ex Matthew Wolfenden claimed she ended their marriage.
The couple first met on the set of the ITV soap and began dating back in 2013 before tying the knot in 2018. In November, Charley and Matthew, who share three small children, announced they had mutually gone their separate ways but hoped to 'remain friends.'
In a statement, 35-year-old actress Charley Webb penned: "It is with love and respect that Matthew and I have decided to separate. We remain friends and our priority is the love for our children. For their sake we would appreciate privacy at this time. C x."
The news came after the pair were said to have been living 'separate lives' and Charley was spotting with her wedding ring on her right hand. A source told the Sun at the time: "Charley and Matthew were in very different places in their lives when they first got together. Three kids later and with new careers in the mix, everything has changed and perhaps they are no longer the unit they once were
Just last week, Matthew sensationally revealed that his ex-wife had been the one to initiate their divorce. It comes after the actor came under fire for being spotted with a female amid his separation.
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessAddressing the string of speculation surrounding his marriage, the soap star wrote on his Instagram page: "Just to set the record straight once and for all… and hopefully this will be the end of it, and the end of me getting horrible messages on socials, and people saying nasty stuff to me in the street.
"1: It was NOT my decision to end my marriage. 2: I met Heather (who I was pictured with in London) way after my marriage ended.” Matthew then added: "Hope this clears stuff up for all the trolls out there." He added: "Oh, and… 3: (and most importantly) Charley and I are still good friends. Our kids are our life and always will be."
Matthew had been subject of rumours that he had been "cheating" on Charley, which led to the actor to speak out previously on the claims, which he said were "an out and out lie". Matthew wrote on Instagram: "Just to set the record straight… This (so called) reporting is an out and out LIE! Can you leave us alone now? And shame on anybody who believes anything that these red tops report! Glad to get that off my chest! And if you want to come see us both in @elfmusicalldn, click the link for tickets!”
Charley and Mathew have since unfollowed each other on Instagram since their break-up, leading fans to speculate the pair had a bitter falling out. Matthew recently quit Emmerdale after 18 years of playing David Metcalfe while Charley stepped away from her role as Debbie Dingle two years ago.
