There's an update arriving soon on Sky that will bring a whole new channel to the service. It's been confirmed that from February 11, some users are getting access to Sky Sports Tennis which, as the name suggests, will show on-court action from across the globe.

In fact, Sky is promising that its latest channel will beam over 4,000 matches into living rooms from more than 80 tournaments a year.

Things will kick off live coverage from the Hologic WTA Tour tournament in Doha. This will then be followed by ATP action in Rotterdam before heading back to Doha an all-star line-up of Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Andrey Rublev and Daniil Medvedev.

The platform will start broadcasting on channel 408 on February 11. It will then, however, move exclusively to 407 on February 13 where it will then remain.

Of course, you'll be able to watch by pumping in that number on your remote but there are also other ways to tune into the action.

Sky says customers can find the channel by using the Voice Control function on the Sky Glass, Stream, or Q remote, using the search terms “New balls please;’ “It was on the line;” “Sky Tennis;” “Sky Sports Tennis” or “Tennis channel”.

Speaking about the launch, Sky Sports Managing Director, Jonathan Licht, said: "It's an exciting moment for Sky Sports as we launch a new home for tennis fans, and Sky Sports Tennis will give millions of homes easy access to watch the best players in the world all year round. We’re proud to be the undisputed home of live sport for fans in the UK and Ireland, and this new channel will add value for our customers, enabling them to enjoy even more of the sports they love.”

Along with Sky TV, the Sports Tennis channel will also be available on Virgin Media and EE TV.
