Jim Harbaugh, the new head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, has made his mark early by nabbing Joe Hortiz from his brother John's Baltimore Ravens team.

Harbaugh, who recently led the Michigan Wolverines to a national championship win, ended his ten-year stint in Michigan to return to the NFL. He previously coached the San Francisco 49ers between 2011 and 2014.

Hortiz is joining the Chargers as their general manager after spending 26 years with the Ravens. He worked his way up from a low-level scout to director of player personnel, working alongside Jim's brother John for the last 16 years.

With talented players like Justin Herbert, Derwin James, Rashawn Slater, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams at his disposal, Harbaugh is hoping for success in Los Angeles. He even admitted to being starstruck when meeting his new quarterback for the first time.

While supporting his brother's team in Baltimore during the AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs, Harbaugh shared his feelings. Unfortunately, the Ravens didn't make it to the Super Bowl, losing out to the Chiefs.

"I have met [Justin Herbert]," Harbaugh shared before the AFC Championship Game in Baltimore, according to the team's official site. "I met him and Derwin James, pro's pros these guys, Keenan Allen. But I was a little starstruck meeting Justin."

Harbaugh also expressed his certainty about returning to professional football coaching. "I love Michigan, but I love the NFL, too," he said. "There's no Lombardi Trophy in college football."

"I got so many sands left in the hourglass and I want to take a crack at that. There's nowhere better to do it than with the Los Angeles Chargers. Susie Spanos, Dean Spanos, Ed McGuire, John Spanos and this great quarterback."

Harbaugh emphasised that the team will need to put in a lot of effort and make significant sacrifices to achieve their Super Bowl goal. "We work together. We win together. It's worth it," he added.

"The hard work, the sacrifice, the pressure, all of it, why would somebody put themselves through that? Because the rewards are so darn good."
