Sue Radford shares relatable post after challenge of getting 22 Kids to school

Reality star Sue Radford, who is the mother of the UK's largest family and whose life is documented in the popular TV series, 22 Kids and Counting on Channel 5, has shared a post on social media which is relatable for many parents.

The 48-year-old mother shared a snapshot of life in the household, as the children returned to school after the Christmas break. It wasn't smooth sailing doing the first school run since the festivities as one child hid under a sofa while others had tantrums at the thought of returning to school.

Posting on Instagram, Sue shared a photo of her living room which has clothing over the floor, told her followers: "Second coffee of the day is definitely needed after that morning. My plan for the day is to totally gut this house. I feel like with the kids off school it’s always a mess so can’t wait to give it a good clean and tidy up.”

This comes as Sue, alongside husband Noel, 52, are set to release their first book on February 29, called The Radfords: Making Life Count, in which they promise to take readers behind-the-scenes of their daily lives and an insight into Britain's largest family.

The couple, who own a pie business, welcomed their first child when they were both teenagers and their brood is now Christopher, 34; Sophie, 29; Chloe, 28; Jack, 26; Daniel, 24; Luke, 23; Millie, 22; Katie, 20; James, 19; Ellie, 18; Aimee, 17; Josh, 16; Max, 14; Tillie, 13; Oscar, 11; Casper, 11; Hallie, eight; Phoebe, seven; Archie, six; Bonnie, four; and three-year-old Heidie.

Feeding the kids has always been a mammoth effort but Sue has revealed her secret behind keeping them well fed after school, saying that she now uses a slow cooker to produce nourishing meals in a time-effective way. Sharing a photo of chicken cooking in a slow cooker pot, Sue explained to her followers: "Trying to be more organised with tea times since the kids have gone back to school so have been doing slow cooker meals all week and it’s definitely made things easier, especially with filming.”

It is some task preparing meals for such a large family and Sue revealed that they consume 16 pints of milk and four loaves of bread every day. She also said that some meals require her to cook 56 sausages to cover everyone, as well as a fajita night needing 5kg of chicken, four packets of tortilla wraps and 1kg of cheese. Sue added that their weekly shopping bill was between £300 and £400 per week.
