Madonna has been sued by two of her fans for breach of contract, false advertising, negligent misrepresentation, and unfair and deceptive trade practices after allegedly arriving two hours late to three of her shows during her Celebration tour.

The tour kicked off in October 2023, with a delayed start due to the singer's health. She reportedly nearly died of a bacterial infection in June after falling unconscious in her New York apartment. She was rushed to the ICU (intensive care unit) which led to a several day stay in the hospital.

TMZ reported at the time that Madonna had to be injected with the drug Narcan, which is typically used for overdoses, to deal with septic shock. However, there is no evidence that, in this case, the use of Narcan was because of an overdose. While performing at Barclays Centre in New York in December, the singer said: "The fact that I’m here right now is the f*****g miracle."

However, according to court documents obtained by TMZ, one of her New York shows didn't kick off to a great start, with the Vogue singer reportedly turning up on stage two hours late at 10:30pm, with an initial start time of 8:30pm, the court filings claims. Two of her fans are leading the charges in a class action lawsuit against Madonna and concert organizer Live Nation over "breach of contract, false advertising, negligent misrepresentation, and unfair and deceptive trade practices."

The plaintiffs are suing for "unspecified damages" and are referencing all three of her performances at the Barclays Centre, where she reportedly showed up late for each. They also claim that the singer has a "long-documented history" of her shows not starting on time.

They acknowledge Madonna's health issues, but are claiming that it's "not a sufficient excuse" for arriving an alleged two hours late. The plaintiffs have listed the price of their tickets in the suit, which were reportedly $155.90 and $292.50 respectively.

Back in October, the Material Girl singer angered fans after her show on October 15 ended bang on 11pm and meant she missed out four of her hit songs. The 11pm finish was still 30 minutes later than the venue's 10.30pm curfew, which meant fans last heard the singer perform Rain, but then missing out on the chance to hear Like A Virgin, B***h I'm Madonna, Holiday and show closer Celebration which typically end her Celebration Tour set list.

After the show ended, fans pointed out that had Madonna arrived on stage to perform her two hour show on time then she would have had time to do all of repertoire of hits. Yet at 9pm, fans were still left wondering when the singer would appear.

Writing on Twitter, angry fans lashed out as they shared their frustration at being 'robbed of a finale' after paying up to £1300 for tickets. One concert goer wrote: "@Madonna please start a bit earlier for your next two @TheO2 shows! Cutting the end of your show is short changing your loyal fans! We all know you’re a rule breaker, so if you run over break the rules and pay the fine! #MadonnaCelebrationTour."
