A travel influencer has been accused of causing a horror crash while on his honeymoon.
An elderly couple and their daughter died in the crash. Gabriele Cairo, 28, appeared at Adelaide Magistrates Court for the first time on Wednesday 17 January where he was charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury. The court heard Cairo crashed his hire campervan into a Honda Civic on October 31 last year.
The incident took place at the intersection of Templeton Road and Blyth Road in Adelaide's Everard Central. Cynthia Clark, 84, and her daughter Jaqueline Clark, 54, both died at the scene, while John Clark, 86, was flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he died almost a week later.

The couple, who are avid travellers, run a YouTube Channel called Hakuna Matata Viaggi. They document their visits around the world to places like Los Angeles, Egypt and Hawaii.
Throughout their videos, the newlyweds filmed themselves at tourist hotspots including Hollywood, the Pyramids of Giza and enjoyed many bars and restaurants around the world.

Ms Perrone was travelling inside the van being driven by Cairo and suffered critical injuries. She was taken to hospital by air ambulance. She survived her injuries while Cairo sustained minor injuries in the crash. Ms Perrone attended court with Cairo on Wednesday as well as other family members who had travelled from Italy.
Hugh Woods, who is Cairo's lawyer, asked Magistrate Justin Wickens to have the case adjourned and said Cairo doesn't speak English very well. According to MailOnline, he said: "These charges are major indictable and will need to be referred to the District Court. My client resides in Italy and is currently here on a tourist visa … we'll require an interpreter on the next occasion." Prosecutors told the court that investigations into the circumstances of the crash were still underway.
A funeral was held for the three victims Cynthia, John and Jaqueline Clark in November 2023. The service was attended by hundreds of mourners as Mr and Mrs Clark and their daughter were remembered as much loved members of the community in Jamestown in the Mid North region of South Australia.
Cairo was remanded on bail and is set to face court again in March. Outside court, the lawyer's colleague Michael Woods told the media it was "very sad for everyone involved".
