Enzo Fernandez and Mykhaylo Mudryk were the two most expensive signings at Chelsea last season.

One year on from the most remarkable of winter transfer windows, Chelsea are still struggling for a clear playing identity under Mauricio Pochettino.

The club spent £290m on eight signings and £10m more to get Joao Felix on loan for the rest of the season.

But the jury remains out on most of the acquisitions, while others were loaned out and in one case there has already been talk of a sale - disputed by club sources.

From the record-breaking Enzo Fernandez to the young striker who is scoring regularly at underage level, here is how the signings have performed 12 months on.

Enzo Fernandez - £107m Tidy but lacking pace, the World Cup winner has undoubted elite technical ability but is yet to display evidence he can dominate a big game. A good player who is not worth such a seismic transfer fee - even if the club record fee has since been broken by the £115m spent on Moises Caicedo.

Mykhaylo Mudryk - £62m A deal that could rise to £89m with performance related add-ons - though on early evidence he is unlikely to be on the Ballon d’Or shortlist. Ukraine wide man has found it difficult to acclimatise, looks physically too soft and Pochettino revealed last September that the head coach was consistently beating him in a crossbar challenge after training.

Benoit Badiashile - £35m Centre back looked raw but displayed flashes of potential during sporadic appearances last season only to miss opening months of this campaign with a hamstring complaint. Now fit, he has made five league starts since November in a defence that is constantly chopping and changing.

Noni Madueke - £29m Scored in consecutive games last month but has made only two league starts so far this season. There were murmurings of a potential sale last summer but the club said last month that the England Under-21 winger will not be loaned out this month.

Malo Gusto - £26m French full back, 20, has become a regular in recent weeks owing to Reece James ’ latest injury but question marks remain over his ability to cut it at the top level.

Andrey Santos - £18m Brazilian, 19, was immediately loaned back to Vasco da Gama before making the switch to England in the summer. Dispatched on loan to Nottingham Forest at the beginning of this season, only to spend seven minutes in Premier League action before returning to West London at the beginning of this month.

Joao Felix - £10m loan fee Made a promising start before being sent off away to Fulham and ended up with four goals from 20 inconsistent appearances. Mauricio Pochettino did not fancy signing him permanently and the Portugal international is currently on loan at Barcelona.

David Datro Fofana - £10m Striker made four appearances last season before joining Union Berlin on loan at the beginning of this campaign. But he struggled to leave an impact for Bundesliga strugglers and is now set to join Burnley for the rest of the campaign.

Jimmy-Jay Morgan - £3m Teenager arrived from Southampton and has been performing regularly for the Under-21 side. Still too early to be certain if he will be making the leap to first team action.
