A British 'danger tourist' who was captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan claims he made them laugh with his toilet humour.

Miles Routledge, from Birmingham, styles himself as a brave Christian explorer and was held by the Taliban in Kabul for eight months. He was recently freed and shared his experiences on X, formerly known as Twitter. He shared a story about a trip to the loo which helped him bond with his captives.

He said: "When I was in Taliban prison and dropped a big one in the toilet, I would say to the Taliban 'American bomb Afghanistan...*pause*....miles bomb Afghanistan toilet' and they'd always laugh.

"It's a fever dream of a memory but yeah dad jokes and cheesy puns work anywhere. Lads are lads all over the world."

Miles, a former Birmingham University student, also shared pictures of himself being unwell in a toilet. He wrote: "Completing the British explorer arc from dying of dysentery and food poisoning."

It also appears he is offering his followers on X the chance to buy clothes signed by his former captors, the Daily Star reported.

He added: "I'm at the Taliban cheeta shoes factory and distribution center. We're going to order in bulk, get them signed by the Taliban and export to my fine followers." He is planning to travel by road from the UK to Afghanistan for his next adventure.
