Zach Wilson's future with the New York Jets remains uncertain after the conclusion of the NFL regular season resulted in a victory over the New England Patriots. The 17-3 win on Sunday was a first for the Jets against their AFC East divisional rivals since December 2015, and it ended a losing streak that lasted for 15 matches.
Trevor Siemian was the starting quarterback in the game at Foxborough, with Wilson still in the league's concussion protocol after a head injury he sustained during the Week 15 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh confirmed last week that Wilson wouldn't be available for the Patriots game. Afterwards, he spoke about Wilson's future with the team, admitting the organisation has not made a decision on whether or not he'll stay at MetLife Stadium for the 2024 season.

"We'll see," Saleh told reporters on January 3, when asked about Wilson's future. "It's all things that we're going to have to talk about once the season's over, but whether it's here or somewhere else, I believe he's going to have a hell of a career."

Saleh was quizzed about how Wilson has coped in what's been a tough season for the quarterback. The 2023 season was supposed to see Wilson as backup to Aaron Rodgers, but those plans ended when the four-time MVP suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in Week 1.
"I thought he [Wilson] had a great OTAs, a great training camp," Saleh said. "I thought he battled. He fought. He's a fighter, he really is.
"Obviously there's things that he wishes he could have back and I know there's a lot of things he improved on. Some things were out of his control. I've said it and I'll say it again: I think he's going to have a long career in this league."

The Jets wrapped up the season 7-10 and are confirmed to have the 10th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The team isn't likely to be looking for a new quarterback, with Rodgers hopeful of being fully fit for the start of next season.
With the draft just three months away, the Jets will probably decide on Wilson's future before the event kicks off. Wilson ended the 2023 season with eight touchdown passes, seven interceptions, and 2,271 total passing yards from the 12 games he played for the Jets.
