Sergio Ramos furiously tells fan to 'shut up' during live TV interview

Sergio Ramos lost his temper during a live TV interview on Thursday, shouting at a fan after another frustrating evening for his Sevilla side.

Ramos returned to Sevilla over the summer after two years with Paris Saint-Germain, turning down the opportunity to move to the Saudi Pro League and instead making an emotional homecoming nearly two decades on from his first spell at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. However, the team has struggled, and dismissed manager Diego Alonso just a few months into his tenure.

Sevilla suffered a ninth defeat in 19 La Liga games on Thursday, losing 2-0 at home to Athletic Club. The result leaves them just one point north of the relegation zone, and things came to a head as Ramos addressed the TV cameras.

After an apparent interruption to the interview, a visibly animated Ramos focused his attention on an individual off-camera. "Have a little respect, we are talking," he said.

"Have some respect for the people and for the badge. Respect the people. We are talking."

After a muffled reply from the individual, the veteran continued: "Yes, but respect the people. Respect the people. Shut up already."

The comments came as Sevilla's season continues to go from bad to worse. Uruguayan manager Alonso, who replaced Europa League winning boss Jose Luis Mendilibar in October, was dismissed before the turn of the year after failing to earn a single league victory.

Quique Sanchez Flores, their third boss of the season, won his first game in charge away to Granada. Two defeats have followed, though, with Mikel Vesga and Aitor Paredes on target in Athletic's win on Thursday.

Despite a busy summer, which saw the likes of Dodi Lukebakio and Mariano Diaz join Ramos at the club, Sevilla have just 16 points from 18 league games - one more than 18th-place Cadiz. They also failed to win any of their Champions League group games, bowing out of Europe with just two points.

Despite challenges on the pitch, Ramos admitted in November that he had no doubts about his decision to come back to Sevilla. "This is a very personal decision, a decision made with the heart," he said. "It was the ideal time to do this and I never thought about the option of going anywhere else when the opportunity of coming here came up.

"When one makes a decision with one's heart I think things can go better or worse. but it's the right decision nevertheless. And I am enjoying, as I said, every single day, every game, every match, enjoying it with the fans and feeling what this club is about.

"Before I close my cycle and my professional career as a footballer, I wanted to close this cycle with my fans, with my home, with my family. As I said back in the day, I could die peacefully now because I have won many things and the only thing I need to do now is win something with Sevilla."
