Actress Jennifer Coolidge took to the Golden Globes stage in Beverly Hills to present the award for best supporting actor in a TV musical/comedy or drama category - and joked about being nervous.
In her speech prior to announcing the nominees, she claimed she nearly didn't accept the job due to a fear of falling on her face due to the "over waxed floors".
As her funny speech continued, she then readied herself to read out the winner. She started: "So, the Oscar goes to," before quickly realising her error.
Immediately correcting herself in a stutter, she said: "Oh, no, no, wait, Golden Globes."

Prior to her "error" she explained the call that led up to her accepting the stint. Describing how a person from the show rang her, she said: "'I said, oh, my god, that is such an honour, thank you, thank you so much. Yes, I would love to, and I hung up on her."
She quickly explained how she soon got cold feet, adding: "And then I thought about it for a little bit, and I just had a complete anxiety attack. And I got very, very nervous and I said "oh, my god, I'm not doing this so I called Cara right back.'

Listing reasons she didn't want to present, she confessed she told the caller she feared losing her place on the teleprompter and being stuck for words and struggling with stars' names - name dropping Kaley Cuoco in the process.

Fans on Twitter flocked to the platform to praise her monologue. One user gushed: "I would like Jennifer Coolidge to host my life. Or at least every event," while another said: "The golden globes can (& should) be just 3 hours of Jennifer Coolidge talking."
