Hundreds of parcels have been stolen from a warehouse as police launch a probe into the burglary.

Police said the parcels - the majority of which were from the delivery company Evri - were wheeled down the street on wooden pallets and in cages.

The burglary occurred at a courier warehouse on Lingard Lane, Stockport, at about 7.30pm on Friday night (January 6).

It is believed the items were moved between 8pm and 9.15pm. Seven people, aged between under 18 and up to 55, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and handling stolen goods.

An estimated £20,000 worth of parcels have already been recovered and are in the process of being delivered back to Evri.

Police urged anyone that was expecting a parcel that hasn't been delivered to contact the courier service directly.

Officers are continuing to appeal for information about the burglary. CCTV footage sourced by Greater Manchester Police showed several vehicles passing the offenders while the items were being transported on foot.

The force is encouraging anyone who was in the area between the times the items were moved on Friday to check their dash cams and any residents with CCTV or video doorbells to check for footage.
