Those with children playing outdoors, enjoying the warm weather have been reminded to stay vigilant when it comes to stranger danger.
A mum has gone viral on social media after sharing a warning about a man who tried to lure her son and another child into his car. According to the unnamed woman, the chilling incident occurred in Manly Vale, in Australia, in "broad daylight" - but it's a powerful message for all those with little ones, no matter where they live.
She explained in a Facebook post that her son and his friend had been playing outside, when an "older man in a white car" approached them, reports kidspot.com.au. The parent wrote: "Hi everyone, I just wanted to alert people to an incident on Lovett St in Manly Vale. "Yesterday my son and his friend were approached by an older man in a white car who offered them lollies to try and entice them into his car.
"Luckily the boys ran away, back into the house and got away, but I thought it might be good to remind everyone in the community to chat to your kids about stranger danger etc." She continued: "It makes me so sad to think there's creeps like this man in our neighbourhood but it's a reality.
"Luckily our boys knew how to respond quickly and told us all about it. Hopefully he's moved on." The mum branded the whole situation "disgusting". Police later told local news that it wasn't the only incident where children had been approached in the area that day.

One family previously shared a clever ' stranger danger trick' that saved an 11-year-old girl from being abducted. The young girl was walking near a park with her friend just outside Phoenix, Arizona, when she was approached by an unfamiliar man in a white SUV. He told her that her brothers had been in a serious accident and was instructed by her parents to come and pick her up.
Unsure if he was telling the truth, she asked the man whether he knew the "code word". This was a prearranged word agreed by her parents in case they needed somebody else to come pick her up. The man didn't know the word and drove away. "Kudos to the parents of this child for having a code word and talking ... to their children about stranger danger," Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb said to USA Today. "We hope by putting this out, it will encourage parents to have that conversation and create a plan with their children, so they know what to do if they are in that situation."
