Pre-ordering the classic space horror game Dead Space Remake will bag you a free copy of the original sequel – Dead Space 2 – but only if you buy it through the Steam store.
Dead Space originally came out in 2008 and scared the living daylights out of a whole bunch of players, who still had never really had a truly satisfying Aliens-type gaming experience. With jump scares and screams a-plenty, it was easy to see why the game was so popular, it even spawned a couple of sequels.
So it’s no real surprise that Electronic Arts thought it was ripe for a remake, complete with an expanded storyline and next-gen standard graphics. Dead Space 2 continued the theme, and if you are totally new to the series and want to see where it heads after playing the Dead Space remake, then your purchasing decision may have just got a bit easier, certainly if it is the PC version you are after.
While the game will be available on Steam and the Epic Game Store, it seems that only the Steam option will bag you a copy of the original sequel for free – handy for those moments when you aren’t scared enough.
Moving from the next-gen graphics and the seamless new level loading to that of a game that is a decade old, may be a little jarring, but there is no denying the creepy sci-fi storytelling is also present in both classics.
