Coronation Street's Lucy Fallon has teased a Bethany Platt secret and has promised 'lots of drama' amid her character's explosive return this Christmas.
Bethany will make a cobbles comeback this New Year having left in 2020 and it's not long until Bethany catches the eye of former flame Daniel Osbourne, whose fiancée Daisy Midgeley recently cheated on him with Ryan Connor. This results in a new love triangle as Daisy struggles seeing Daniel pursue Bethany following her betrayal.
However, while Bethany's family are delighted to see her return to Weatherfield, especially mother Sarah Platt, actress Lucy, 28, has teased that Bethany, who was working as a journalist in London, is hiding a secret.
Appearing on Thursday's Lorraine, Lucy said of her character's return: "She's been pursuing a journalism career in London and she kind of gets forced to come back, I can't really say why, you'll have to watch!

She added: "There's going to be a lot of drama between Bethany and Daisy, they go head-to-head a lot, which has actually been really fun to play as I get on well with Charlotte [Jordan], who plays Daisy, really well. It's been nice to play that!"
It comes as Lucy told the Mirror and other press recently: "She's basically been forced to come back, I don't know if I'm allowed to say what it is but there is something that's happened in London that has kind of forced her to come back but she's not revealing that straight away. She's being a bit secretive about why she has come back. I don't know if I can say anything else about that!"

The last time we saw her, she probably felt more like a young girl, whereas now, she seems more like a woman. She's changed her dress sense, she's gone a little bit 'rock chick', I can't lie. She's grown up a lot but she has the same morals and things as before."
Lucy added: "The way she comes back is a bit dramatic for some people on the street and I think she is causing trouble already. One of the things that David Platt says: 'She's only been back five minutes, she's already causing problems!' I think she is [causing trouble] but it's unintentional. She's not come back to cause problems for people!"
