Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers had fans in tears as he made a sad admission about his cancer diagnosis.

The chef and TV star appeared on the latest episode of Hairy Bikers: Coming Home For Christmas tonight alongside his friend and colleague Si King. Whilst the show focused on the pair's love of food and cooking, the documentary also featured updates on his cancer diagnosis and showed him going through therapy to help him walk once more.

During the episode, Dave explained why he hadn't divulged publicly about what cancer he specifically had, but did offer fans an update on his health and his journey so far to recovery amid a tough few months for the star.

Speaking about his decision to keep what type of cancer he has a secret, he said: "I didn't want to eat. I would fall over quite a lot. By the second lot of chemo my hair came out really quite radically. Your hair, eyelashes, everything just goes. I've never gone on about what sort of cancer I've got because I feel like that's my business. I don't want newspapers to run a lottery on how long I've got to live. That's not what I want. I felt so guilty because of the effects it's having on my wife Lil."

Later in the show, he also gave an update on his road trips with friend and colleague Si King. "My legs are going, the grin, I feel like a hysterical teenager again. I'm going to phone Kingy. It means we can get back on the road together again," he said, leaving fans an emotional wreck as he shared what meant so much to him.

Taking to social media, fans shared their devastation over the clips. "Never had a tear watching someone ride a bike before! #hairybikers," one wrote, whilst a second added: "#hairybikers making me blub 15 minutes in…" Dave previously admitted he feared he wouldn't make it to this Christmas amid his diagnosis.

"I don’t go on about it too much, but with most Christmas specials you have to cook for somebody, but this was kind of like the Hairy Bikers best ever Christmas. Because it was the Christmas I never thought I’d be here for," he said. The pair got back on their bikes for this special episode, with Si describing it as "really emotional". Of working alone, he added: "He’s my best mate and we’ve known each other for 30 years and cooked together for 22. So you just feel a little bit odd."
