WWE's Money in the Bank 2023 to be held in London

WWE has announced London's O2 Arena will host Money In The Bank on Saturday, July 1, 2023 in the biggest wrestling show the UK capital has seen in more than 30 years.

The event is one of the biggest in the wrestling giant's annual calendar and is the second UK-based pay per view event for WWE in a year, following the roaring success of Clash at the Castle in Cardiff in September.

At the time Scottish wrestler Drew McIntyre, who took on champion Roman Reigns in an action-packed main event which included a run in by Tyson Fury, said that the record-breaking event at packed out Principality Stadium attended by 60,000 fans was 'just the beginning' for high-profile WWE events in the UK.

The surprise announcement, which saw WWE trend on Twitter in the UK as fans celebrated the news, adds weight to champion Bianca Belair's statement to The Mirror that a UK Wrestlemania was a matter of 'when not if'.

Considered one of WWE's biggest events of the year, Money in the Bank is renowned for having high-flying, chaotic matches packed with excitement.

The event at the O2 will feature many of WWE’s biggest-name wrestlers and bring the iconic Money In The Bank ladder matches to the UK for the first time.

The two Money in the Bank matches see one male and one female winner receive a briefcase containing a contract for a championship match at a time and place of their choosing any time within the next year.

Last year's winners, Liv Morgan and Austin Theory, both cashed in and ended up having title runs off the back of their prestigious wins.

Christian D'Acuña, Senior Programming Director at The O2, which plays regular host to smaller shows on WWE's international tours, said: “We are honoured to be hosting the first ever Money In The Bank event taking place in the UK here at The O2.

"We’re looking forward to welcoming back WWE fans to The O2 this summer for an unforgettable night with some of WWE’s biggest superstars.”

Meanwhile, Dan Ventrelle, Executive Vice President for Talent at WWE said: “The O2 is one of the world’s premier venues and the perfect home for Money In The Bank. We are excited to bring one of our ‘Big 5’ events to the UK and look forward to welcoming the WWE Universe to London on July 1."

Tickets are not yet on sale for the event but with unprecedented demand for Clash at the Castle tickets - which was a considerably larger venue - it's expected that when they do go on sale they will sell very quickly.

Clash At The Castle broke numerous records at the time including becoming the most-watched international premium live event in WWE history, with the largest European gate ever and the best-selling merchandise for a non-WrestleMania event.

For now fans keen to buy tickets can sign up for WWE's pre-sale here to get information as soon as it is announced.

Tickets for other WWE live shows coming to the UK, which include post-Wrestlemania events in April and additional dates in June are available on Ticketmaster here or SeeTickets here.

WWE is shown in the UK on BT Sport which is available with a no contract monthly pass here or alternatively as part of Sky bundles for new TV contracts here.

It's also available on the WWE Network.
