Take That leave fans speechless at Jingle Bell Ball after Jason Orange snub

Take That fans couldn't control their excitement as the boys got back on stage at Sunday night's Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball. The band performed some of their greatest hits as they made the hotly anticipated comeback at The O2 in London this weekend.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, followers gushed over the group's performance, calling it "sensational". One wrote: "Always a pleasure to see Take That performing on a #Strictly results show." While another added: "just had a boogie to take that’s jingle bell ball performance im so excited to see them next year." A third penned: "What a fab night at the jingle Bell ball!!! Thanks to Capital Official for live streaming on TikTok @takethat Amazing!!! As always @GaryBarlow." "There’s just something so great about driving home in a storm listening to take that sing the flood at jingle bell ball," penned someone else as the band brought out Rita Ora.

It comes after the band discussed Jason Orange's absence, admitting he had become "difficult to get hold of". He left the group in 2014 but rarely keeps in touch. "I don't know where he is. He's difficult to get hold of," star Howard Donald said.

"I believe that's the way he wants it," he told The Sun. "When an album is coming out he'll send an email saying, 'I wish you all the success in the world'. And then the next day you try replying to it and it's a no-reply email address. Wherever he is, I really hope he is happy."

Gary Barlow says he struggles to understand what happened with Jason, saying: "It's a tricky one with Jay. I almost think if there had been a big argument it would be easier, but there wasn't. He just wanted a change in his life."

"But he does keep an eye on us. And it’s nice to know that," he added. Speaking on their brand-new podcast, Take That : This Life, Gary, Howard and Mark Owen recalled moments from their epic 30+ year career, charting their journey from five young lads playing Manchester clubs to number one albums, record-breaking tours and everything in between.

In the latest episode of the podcast, Gary, 52, revealed that he, Mark, and Donald were 'left in limbo' not knowing whether or not Jason would ever return to the band after his shock departure. "It was a funny album wasn't it because when we started making that particular record, we still didn't know if Jay was going to come back or not. I mean, he’d not really given us any indication he was coming back but we were making it not knowing whether he was coming back or not. We were writing without knowing what was going on."

Mark added: "I think we were probably allowing space in case he changed his mind. I think that what we were thinking and probably songwriting-wise as well and where we were going with the record. We'd spent a little bit of time together."
