You've been plucking your eyebrows wrong - and diagonal line trick is a must
These days it's trendy to have a strong eyebrow game, with many people wanting their brows to be 'on fleek' as the kids would say, but achieving the right look is easier said than done - and it can be rather painful too.
Some people will spend a fortune at a salon to have a professional wax, tweeze or thread their brows but if you're looking to save a few pennies and give it a go yourself at home, there are a few tips you might need to know.
Fides Baldesberger, the CEO of Rubis Tweezers, has shared her advice on plucking brows and how to create the 'perfect' arch shape to ensure your face doesn't end up looking 'expressionless'.
To start the expert urges people to always opt for tweezers at home, over a waxing kit, saying: "To keep brows in shape at home, tweezing is the best way to do this. It's completely safe, mess and fuss-free and super easy.
"I believe waxing is one thing left to the professionals as with it comes the risk of burns, skin lifting and bruising, as well as removing too many hairs by mistake."

"This allows you to maintain perspective and see how your brows balance out with the rest of your face," she said. "But don't use a magnifying mirror."
Next, you must ensure your tweezers and your skin are clean, then you can go in and remove hairs around the outline of your brows.
"If you're growing out your brows, trace this line a little wider to preserve your growth," Fides advises.
When you're ready to actually tweeze, pull the surrounding skin tight using your non-tweezing hand to minimise pain, then use your tweezers to grip each hair tightly as close to the skin as possible. Swiftly remove it by pulling the hair in the same direction it grows.
Pulling against the growth pattern would be a mistake according to the expert as it can snap the hairs or even damage the follicle.
Continue tweezing around the brows, noting the growth direction changes in each area (above, in between and below) and adjusting your pulling direction to suit.
Once you've mastered this, you can move on to creating that all-important arch, using a diagonal line trick.
Fides adds: "When you have no arch on your brows, your face can look expressionless. Plucking - not overplucking! - a natural arch into your brows can benefit your face structure.
"First find the ideal arch location for your brow, this is where your brow is naturally at its highest which you can find by following a diagonal line from the outside of your nose across the middle of your eye.

If you have hairs to spare you can pluck away a few hairs in the lowest, centre area of your brows, which will definitely give you an arch.
"Pluck one hair at a time, and step back to look at your brow shape with your full face. Do this between every pluck so as not to overpluck."
This comes after a top make-up artist shared her hack for achieving a Charlotte Tilbury-style make-up look for less.
Dierbhile Kearney explained how adding a sparkly eyeshadow or highlighter to the inner corner of your eye would easily create the glowy look often seen on Charlotte Tilbury models and adverts.
And you don't need to splash the cash on high-end products to do this, as Deirbhile demonstrated the look using cheap products from Primark.
