James Whale has made a rare appearance at a showbiz lunch after ending his cancer treatment.
The radio host was seen at the TRIC (The Television and Radio Industries Club) Christmas lunch at the London Hotel in the capital. The 72-year-old looked smart as he dressed in a black blazer paired with a checked waistcoat and blue floral patterned shirt.
He wore his iconic glasses and accessorised his look with some rings. The appearance comes after James revealed back in September that he was stopping his cancer treatment.
James made the announcement three years after being diagnosed with the disease at stage-four. He was diagnosed with kidney cancer again, after going into remission 20 years ago.

The TalkRADIO host first had kidney cancer back in 2000 before the disease returned in 2020 and spread to his brain, spine and lungs.

James had been receiving chemotherapy since a second diagnoses in 2020, but has decided to come off the aggressive medication after he was granted a choice between 'the quality and quantity of life'.
He has previously spoke about being worried that this Christmas could be his last but has remained upbeat throughout his treatment. He told The Sun: "My oncologist Professor Tom Powles is the greatest kidney cancer expert in the country, in my view, and last time Lady W and I had a chat with him, it was quite funny. He started the conversation by saying, 'I’m really bored with your treatment.' I replied, 'Yeah so am I'."
Back in July of this year James also said: "I’m kind of at the end, the end of my treatment." Trying to make light of the situation, he added: "When I lose a lot more weight when I get really ill, I’ll look fantastic. I’ve just come off all the steroids I was on, which made me look like a bloody balloon. I’m feeling better from that."
James has opened up in the past about considering his options and deciding how he ultimately wanted to proceed. In an emotional message to his fans, he explained that he considered assisted death in a Swiss clinic but instead chose to spend time with his family before he passes away.
He said that he feels sorry for his wife in particular. James said: "The cancer gets into your head and sometimes you can’t stand noise. At the moment, I have got cancer fatigue, which makes you very tired. Some days I might feel sorry for myself. I feel sorry for my wife really. It’s more difficult for her."
