A limited edition Christmas edition Coca-Cola can is on sale for over £274,000 - but there's no drink inside.
The can, described by the Ebay seller as an 'empty and unopened can of Original Coca-cola', is apparently the result of a rare error by the factory. A description of the item reads: "Item is sealed and empty, no liquid inside. Item is completely original, no modifications of any kind have taken place".
The special can appears like most other festive versions with Coca-Cola brand's font and covered in their signature red branding, featuring an image of Santa Claus enjoying the drink.

The festive can is being sold on eBay by user 'riyadsadak' - but if you want to get your hands on a piece of history, buyers will need shell out a whopping £274,677.43 ($347,000). It appears to be from the 2019 Christmas edition collection by the global drinks giant. Coca-Cola with cinnamon flavour was also released in the same year in the United States, as a limited release for the 2019 holiday season.
Coca-Cola's website suggests that the brand "more than 1.9 billion servings of our drinks are enjoyed in more than 200 countries each day". The brand is worth a massive £199,637,771,872, (253.52 billion dollars). Bottles, cans, posters and memorabilia featuring the Coca-Cola brand are popular collector's items, with early Coca Cola collectibles selling for for tens of thousands.
Limited edition lines released for Christmas, major sporting events, film releases or national days of significance can also attract considerable interest. In 2021, former Guinness World Record holder Gary Feng was awarded 'most extensive collection of soda cans of one specific brand' for his hoard of 11,308 different Coca-Cola cans from 108 different countries. His same brand record was beaten the following year by avid Pepsi collector Christian Cavaletti from Italy, who owns 12,402 cans.
