The daughter of Benidorm legend Sticky Vicky has revealed her touching "dying wish" ahead of her cremation and funeral today.

The 80-year-old legendary entertainer, whose real name was Victoria María Aragüés Gadea, died aged 80 at Villajoyosa Hospital, near the Costa Blanca resort. Announcing the sad news, her daughter María Aragüés Gadea wrote on Facebook: "I regret these words, my mother Sticky Vicky passed away today at 6 in the morning, I can't believe it.

"She has gone, surrounded by her family, with all of our love. I thank God for being able to always be by her side, I am left with a broken heart." Maria, who lost her mum on her 42nd birthday, has now pledged to fulfill her dying wish of scattering her ashes in the sea in Benidorm.

She said Sticky Vicky loved the sea, beach and nature in general - and was "passionate" about it. Maria also revealed the family will gather for the star's creamation, and there will not be a public funeral.

She told The Sun: "We don’t want people coming to the funeral parlour and we’ve decided not to do a mass or anything public like that. What we’re going to do is cremate her and then get together as a family with her ashes and scatter them in the sea in a cove somewhere in Benidorm which was my mum’s last wish.

"The loved the sea and the beach and nature in general. It relaxed her and she felt passionate about it." Well known for her daring x-rated displays on stage, Brits flocked to see Sticky Vicky's shows and many have paid tribute following the news.

Vicky spent 30 years performing wild tricks and built up a cult following, with fans travelling thousands of miles to see her world-famous routines. It is estimated six million people have seen her show since she started it in the mid-70s and did not retire until 2016 aged 72.

Her daughter, who is now keeping her legacy alive by performing like her mother, also criticised "imposters" who have tried to copy Sticky Vicky's X-rated shows, using her name and claiming they were related while "lying" to the public. Follow the announcement of Sticky Vicky's death, fans rushed the honour the performer online.

One wrote: "God bless you and your family your mum put Benidorm on the map when you said Benidorm every one said sticky Vicky what a beautiful woman a true entertainer RIP." Another told Vicky's daughter: "Sending u all love..... see your mum on my 21st birthday, proper legend in her own lifetime..... May she have the best bed in heaven and rest in eternal peace."

A third said: "So sorry for your loss. Your beautiful mum was a true legend we feel so privileged to have seen her many times. R I P beautiful lady. Sending love to her family."

Sticky Vicky retired in 2016 and her daughter said copycat entertainers tried to profit from her mum’s career. Speaking to the Daily Star last year, Maria remembered watching her mum’s bonkers routine as a girl and said: "I liked the show and I had no idea I could do something like that.

"I remember she was super shy and worried about what I would think. I told her that I loved seeing her and I liked her show. It never turned out for me to see her do a daring routine, my mind was already open and very mature."
