Shannen Doherty has said that she is "not done" and wants to "embrace life" after her cancer spread to her bones.

The 52-year-old American actress, known for starring in Charmed, announced that she had breast cancer in 2015, with it later being revealed that she had gone into remission before it returned. In 2020, she revealed she had stage four breast cancer.

Then, back in June, earlier this year, Shannen gave a health update when she revealed that the cancer had spread to her brain. The 90210 star has now said that she doesn't want to die as she continues to undergo treatment.

Speaking to People Magazine ahead of Thanksgiving, Shannen said: "I don’t want to die." She went on: "I’m not done with living. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating. I’m not done with hopefully changing things for the better."

She then said: "I’m just not — I’m not done.”

Also talking about her cancer diagnosis, Shannen said: "When you ask yourself, ‘Why me? Why did I get cancer?’ and then ‘Why did my cancer come back? Why am I stage 4?,’ that leads you to look for the bigger purpose in life."

The actress then spoke of her hopes that she will raise awareness and funds for cancer research, with her finding it "insane" that a cure has still not been found.

After revealing that the cancer had spread to her brain in June, Shannen also revealed that she had to have surgery five months prior. The surgery removed a brain tumour she had named "Bob".

Recounting having it removed, Shannen said that it was "definitely one of the scariest things I’ve ever been through in my entire life".

Earlier this year Shannen shared some photos and videos that showed her receiving treatment. In one video the actress could be seen crying as she underwent a round of radiation. Alongside the video clip that saw her undergo the treatment, Shannen penned: "On January 5th, my CT scan showed Mets in my brain. Yesterdays video was showing the process of getting fitted for the mask which you wear during radiation to your brain".
