Carlo Ancelotti has shut down talk of a move to Brazil with his Real Madrid future remaining unclear.

The Italian's contract at the Bernabeu expires next summer and the Spanish club are yet to table an extension. Florentino Perez is debating whether to try and get Ancelotti to stay, but Brazil are eager to land Ancelotti's signature for the next World Cup in 2026.

Ancelotti has enjoyed a stellar career in the dugout, winning more Champions League titles than anyone, and currently has Real Madrid top of La Liga. But he has clearly had enough about questions regarding his next move.

Ahead of his side's Champions League clash with Napoli, he told a reporter: "I'll give you the chance to ask another question." The Italian then added: "I say it again, I am not talking about my future."

Brazil were knocked out in the last eight of the World Cup in Qatar last year, losing to Croatia on penalties. It further extends their wait for a sixth World Cup with their last triumph coming in 2002. Ancelotti maintains he's flattered by the links, but will hold fire until his contract ends.

"I don't think about it [my future]," he said at a press conference last weekend. "I am proud that the Brazilian national team is talking about me but I'm not going to talk about my future until my contract is up. In the end, at most it would be a six-month wait. What is six months when faced with a decision of a lifetime?"

CBF (Brazil football federation) president Ednaldo Rodrigues has named Fernando Diniz as Brazil's interim manager on a one-year deal but made strong noises about having Ancelotti in charge for the next Copa America.

"Philosophy, not constantly changing it," Rodrigues said. "He [Diniz] always had the same method ... It's a coach whose ideas are similar to the coach who'll take charge in the Copa America, Ancelotti. I think they have almost the same tactics and philosophy."

A CBF official has told reporters: "The president [Ednaldo Rodrigues] would not have signed Fernando Diniz to a one-year contract in a caretaker position if he did not have a serious plan in place. Nothing has changed in the president's position since he last spoke to the media. The plan is Carlo Ancelotti and we are very comfortable and confident with the commitment we have to make it happen."
