Jahn also posted a tweet, saying: "This Tuesday, SSV Jahn received the terrible news that Jahn professional Agyemang Diawusie died at the age of 25. The club is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic event."

The cause of Diawusie's death is yet to be revealed. The 25-year-old had returned to Regensburg this past summer after coming up through the club's youth academy.

Having made his way into the Germany international youth setup during his time with Jahn, he moved on to Nurnberg before joining RB Leipzig. Loan spells with Wehen Wiesbaden either side a permanent move to Ingolstadt then followed, prompting Dynamo Dresden to sign him in July 2020, handing him a two-year contract.

After helping Dresdon achieve promotion to the second division, they were relegated in Diawusie's next and final campaign. He then joined top-flight Austrian club SV Ried but had his deal terminated by mutual consent in January of this year, having made just one appearance.

Diawusie went on to play for third-tier outfit SpVgg Bayreuth, scoring once in 17 games as they were relegated to the fourth division. Jahn then secured his services and sporting Achim Beierlorzer declared: "We want to work with him on his potential for improvement and bring him to the level he has in himself."
