Parents say a Christmas attraction was the 'worst ever' with a Winter Wonderland which included a skinny Santa and watery hot chocolate.

The festive 'celebration' in New York City was billed as the "most magical holiday attraction of the season.” But mums and dads complained on social media it was a dirty trick and moaned the “tiny” ice rink which was coupled with a 'skinny Santa' who didn't fill out his famous red suit. They also said a “dangerous” slide has since been closed after a child was hurt.

Disney’s The Santa Clauses’ Winter Wonderland is on the roof of Pier 17 in NYC's Seaport. But mum Kamilla Cohen, 30, described it as: “A s**t show. The whole experience was frustrating,” She visited the attraction on Saturday with her family and paid $60 (£47.50) for two VIP tickets. They included a fast entrance pass, skate rentals for the ice rink, hot chocolate with entrance to the “North Pole.”

She and her husband both claim they experienced back pain after using the the Winter Wonderland's slide. Cohen said: “We asked our daughter if she wanted to go again, and she said no, I think she hurt herself. It’s so unusual for her not to go back to a slide.” They insisted they heard a boy crying after he had been on the slide.

The slide was then quickly closed by security at the site before an ambulance was called. Disney did not respond when asked for comment and Pier 17 would not comment. Another parent who attended the attraction at roughly the same time on Saturday said

their daughter “sprained her ankles” and added that “many kids complained that the fall is painful. The drop is fast and hard for adults and children. I wouldn’t recommend having your kids play on it.”

Ger Young also said on Google's review site: "This place is a joke! Don't waste your money! Worst Christmas experience ever! Vey unorganised with some employees running around while others just stand and stare

Event website Bucket Listers, billed the event as being tied to Disney. With an official name “Disney’s The Santa Clauses Winter Wonderland” and a Disney logo on its page where tickets can be bought. However, Disney's presence, or any of the characters it is known for were not to be found anywhere. And the mum had hoped her kids would see some of their favourites from Frozen but could not find a Disney trademark anywhere. She said the online images looked lovely which is why they chose to go.

She added: “When a business puts a Disney name on it, you expect to see a Disney character.” Jessica Teixeria gave the attraction a one-star Google review and described the ice rink as “tiny and without ice.”

The mum had paid for two VIP tickets providing her access to the lounge which had no fondue station and ran out of hot chocolate. Jessica said it was “the worst money spent in my life!. Tourist trap, recommended only if you want to spend $100 to take photos on Instagram.”
