Kate Lawler has faced yet more mum-bashing but handed out a tongue-lashing after some of her followers raised issues with her daughter still sleeping in a cot.
The former Big Brother winner couldn't help but bite back after criticism of Noa's bedtime routine. The youngster, who celebrates her third birthday in February, clearly isn't ready for a big-girl bed but that didn't stop the grumbles from the parent-shamers. Kate uploaded a video of her singing under the mattress, and one follower couldn't help themselves.
They told her: "To be fair a bed would be better hun!!" to which Kate quickly replied: "She’d never be able to lift a bed mattress though. So no." But not happy with the response, the user said back: "She’s outgrown that think and she will feel a bigger girl in a little bed!!!!"
It's not the first time she's had to respond to the situation. Taking to her Instagram to make a light-hearted comment about her parenting troubles, she posted a video of her two-year-old daughter Noa refusing to go to sleep. Her daughter was seen throwing her toys out of her cot while asking her mum to come and pick them up.
Kate replied through the baby monitor: "If you keep throwing things out of your cot, you won't have them anymore." The mum-of-one saw the funny side to the situation and joked in her caption: "How's your toddler's bedtime routine going?" She added: "I’ve aged a hundred years and bedtimes are now hit and miss as to whether she’ll fall asleep straight away but there’s no denying she makes me laugh EVERY SINGLE DAY and I can’t imagine a world without her. Little sass queen."
Chanelle Hayes posts tear-soaked selfies as she shares mental health battleKate was soon hit with backlash from fans. Posting in the comment section, one said: "She’s possibly ready for an actual bed now." Another added: "She needs to be in a normal bed ???" Someone else wrote: "I feel like she possibly needs a bigger actual bed now? That’s what we’ve just done with our 2 year old and she sleeps so much better now."
Kate responded to the comment and said: "Can I ask why you think she needs this when she sleeps so well? Genuine question I’m not being rude xx." Replying to another critic, Kate added: "She’s told me she loves her cot and sleeps until 7-8am I’m not changing anything."
It is not the first time Kate has faced mum-shaming. Over the summer, she hit out at the 'Karens' who criticised her for showing the realities of going on holiday with children. The radio and TV star originally shared a post of her hectic holiday with her husband Martin Bojitos and daughter Noa.
In the video, Kate was filmed washing clothes in the sink, attempting to brush her daughter's teeth, trying to soothe her daughter from 'meltdown number 17', changing diapers, as well as dealing with the millions of other things that come with travelling with a young child and two dogs.
She said the family were "having a blast" but the stress and endless chaos is "hard work too". Being honest on social media didn't stop the trolls from mum-shaming her for taking her young daughter on "this type of holiday". Kate was having none of it and hit back at the angry users.
Kate called out the trolls who "didn’t even bother reading the caption before commenting" their criticism. She added: "I want to address the teeny tiny handful of comments about the last reel I posted. I shouldn’t have to caveat each post with the fact that I love my daughter but it seems a handful of Karen’s have got the wrong end of the stick and didn’t even bother reading the caption before commenting.
"Firstly please don’t tell me what I can and can’t post on my own Instagram account. I wouldn’t ever dream of telling even a family member what they should or shouldn’t post. Secondly, the reel I posted was not for ‘entertainment’, It’s hugely important for me to also share the reality of holidaying with two dogs and a toddler as so many of you asked for advice, tips & recommendations about European road trips. If all I shared were sweet and smiley family photos it would be completely disingenuous and not representative of this trip at all."
