'Tis the season to be jolly, and what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to peruse the feast of festive films and TV shows Disney Plus has on offer?

The streaming giant boasts Tim Burton’s classic The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and Frozen - toasting its 10th birthday already - as well as other Christmas favourites including A Muppets Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street and Home Alone (1-4). There's also premium blockbusters including Avatar: The Way of Water, The Little Mermaid and Elemental.

Christmas-specific highlights include an avalanche of new arrivals, including the return of The Santa Clauses, a spin-off series starring Tim Allen as Scott Calvin, searching for the perfect successor to take over his Santa duties. Elsewhere we have Dashing Through the Snow, which stars Lil Rel Howery, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and Teyonah Parris. It's an often hilarious and touching story about a social worker for the Atlanta police department and the Christmas Eve journey with his estranged daughter that helps him to remember the joy and magic of the yuletide season.

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever is the latest animated movie based on Jeff Kinney’s wildly successful book series. The laugh-out-loud film makes for a heartfelt holiday tale centred around everyone’s favourite disaster-prone middle school student. It will premiere on December 8.

Lucasfilm’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny - the final instalment in the epic, iconic franchise - will stream December 15. The latest adventure sees Harrison Ford return as intrepid archaeologist Indy as he races against time to retrieve a legendary dial that can change the course of history. Ably assisted by goddaughter Phoebe Waller-Bridge, it isn't long before the team are squaring off against Jürgen Voller, a former Nazi who works for NASA.
