Nusret Gökçe, or Salt Bae as he is more commonly known, is famous for his eye-wateringly expensive restaurants where you can buy burgers and steaks covered in gold leaf that are sliced by chefs in front of you.

Salt Bae is a Turkish butcher, chef and restaurant owner who went viral in 2017 for his distinguished way of sprinkling salt.

The viral video clip shot him to fame, and he went on to open branches of his luxury steak restaurant Nusr-Et around the world, including in London, New York, Dubai and Ankara.

Nusret now owns 22 of these restaurants in the world – and one of their most famous dishes is the burger.

But few know that if you want to experience the famous Nusr-Et burger without the hefty price tag, there's a restaurant for you.

The culinary mastermind has a burger restaurant in Galata, Istanbul, Turkey called Saltbae Burger, where you can get the same type of food for significantly less money.

TikTok food reviewer Ali, who posts on @heymanfoodreviews, recently posted about his experience at the restaurant, which he said is "really, really, really good" and "well priced".

On the video sharing platform, he posted a clip of the Vaccine Burger, where a member of staff comes and squirts a syringe of cheese into the burger.

His meal, which also came with chips, cost around £8, said Ali.

He added: "This was probably the best burger I've had in Istanbul. I find the Nusr-Et restaurant a bit overpriced, but this however priced very well."

Ali also showed a clip of his bill, which came to a total of 212 (£9.43) Turkish Lira, including a drink.

Foodies in the comment section were very excited about being able to have the Salt Bae experience without the hefty price tag.

One person commented: "Had this a few days ago and I was very impressed with the overall burger and price."

Another said: "That burger actually looks banging."

A third added: "These burgers are actually nice and well priced."

"I remember someone explaining how it's cheaper to fly to Istanbul and go to Nusr-Et there than going to Nusr-Et in London," said another.
