Angela Scanlon's Strictly Come Dancing journey has been a revelation, not only for herself but for her husband as well. The Irish TV presenter has been working hard on her physique and it seems to be paying off, as her husband, Roy Horgan, can't stop raving about her new "ripped" look.

For week seven of the show, Angela, 39, and her dance partner Carlos Gu took on a slinky samba routine to Jennifer Lopez's hit Ain't It Funny. The judges had mixed opinions, with Craig Revel Horwood noting a bit of coordination trouble but praising their energy and overall performance.

Despite the criticism, Angela says that her husband is seeing a side of her that has been "hidden for 40 years," as she dances a storm on the BBC One dance show. She said: "I feel absolutely ripped and, oh listen, my husband’s grand. He’s happy. I mean I’ve been shaking my hips like nothing else but, you know, they’re holding up."

But it's not just her body that's undergoing a transformation. Angela's confidence is also on the rise. She said: “It’s been lovely to be back in a space where I’m properly being pushed physically. It’s very good for the confidence.

“You kind of think after kids you’re a different person and actually you’re still the same. I think a massive part of the appeal of the show was the physicality of it. I’m really pushing myself because weirdly I was rather stuck in my ways. It’s been terrifying but rewarding to be shoved out there in an outfit that I wouldn’t necessarily choose on a Saturday night.”

And while Angela admits to getting frustrated with her partner at times, she's determined to push herself to new heights on the dance floor. "There has not been one tiff between us but sometimes, if I get a bit frustrated, my nostrils flare – he recognises that now," she said. Despite this, Angela remains determined to push herself to new heights on the dance floor.
